Hey Ron, This video was helpful in my pursuit of getting a firearm. I enjoy seeing you and George in his videos too. I’m subscribing. Thanks Mike

@Ron90for10 Thanks for your help

@AllTheSame711 I prefer the XD because it has similar grip ergos as a 1911 which fits my hand size. . . You can’t go wrong with any models that you’ve stated because they are all extremely well made pistols. I prefer my pistols with a “single action” type thumb safety as in the HK or none at all as in the XD. It really comes down to what is going to fit in your hand the best. The better grip fit, the better recoil distribution and recoil control. Hope this helps you out. . .

Hey Ron, Do you like your Springfield XD ? I was thinking about getting one or a sig p250 or maybe an H&K USP 40. do you have any advice on which is more reliable?

Appreciate it

Awesome video! Do you plan on doing a video on long guns in the future?

Ron is the MAN! Excellent work, Ron! For me, I keep a CZ-52 (7.62X25 Tokarev, .30 Caliber) at about 1200-1600FPS. She suffers from overpenetration, but was specifically designed to penetrate light body armor (up to Level 2), and will do the same to a Kevlar helmet. She pushes on recoil, and does NOT shove (I LIKE IT!). ALWAYS pick the RIGHT tool, for the RIGHT job. As Socrates once said, “Know THYSELF”. It applies to weapons too!

@FarangBalls Nice ultra sub-compact concealment piece.

@westin1985 Each State has its own set of firearm and “carry” laws. You can check out the National Rifle Association’s webpage for generals and certain specifics, but I concur with labartic in checking with your local Law Enforcement Agency… But ask for something “hard” as in a copy in paper or a publicly viewed webpage. You’ll be surprised at how many law enforcement personnel will give you a “personal” view of the actual law regarding firearms.

@kuunami The difference between the 2 actions is described properly by labartic. The reason .22 caliber is not a recommend primary option for self-defense is because it lacks sufficient “knock down” energy to stop an assailant with 1 or a few shots effectively (excluding the token headshot through the eyeball or nasal cavity). Although a small caliber, people with certain physical disabilities may not be able to handle larger calibers, something controllable is better than having nothing at all.

@sisseeboy Love that caliber for the exact reason you’ve stated. . . Its a nice hot little round chamber into a very effective firearm platform.

sorry for the double up here. but i have to tell you i keep a cz52 for fun. the 7.62 x 25 is a hot dog for sure. they can be obtained cheap the ammo is fairly cheap relatively speaking. the muzzle velocity is naer 1600 fps. not much really compares to it in an automatic side arm.

stealing in church… thats pretty brazen. damn lol
you made a pretty good video here for the layman, i honestly hit this vid prepared to laugh at some fool. but you appear to have your shnit together. the fact that you know the difference between a magazine and a clip makes me happy. and that you realize that they arent guns but rather firearm or weapon. guns are artillery fools. personally though i have a machette for home defense. side arms arent personal enough for in the home, kids and such

good intro to firearms, safety – storage – maintenance are all good topics.
firearm training is one thing – ability to take life without a firearm is more useful.
I would recommend researching the prison system for creative weapons.
from a Index finger to a can of wasp spray… you got to go with what is not expected. and practice will make perfect.
I have a bully in my family – he has a watch that slips off and grabs your attention and well, your eyes follow the watch not his right hand.

.22 is a poor self defense caliber. get yourself a KHAR CW9mm or 40 or 45. whatever your comfortable with. Id prefer the .45

a gun is only as effective as the bullets it shoots. You should see some realistic tests of 380 hollow point ammo. It doesnt perform very well. After it goes through a couple layers of clothing, it has very poor performance. I suggest you get a khar 9mm or bigger. Even the khar 45 is very small. Id be confident carrying that.

Or go with a 38 spl +p revolver

a 22 makes a good wepaon if you are budget conscious. the weapons themselves are less expensive and the cartridges are dirt cheap, which translates into more shooting for less dollars. i live up north and in the winter there have been instances where the persons clothing has mitigated the effect of being shot with a 22 round, which i suppose is one reason why a 22 is sometimes not considered a good self-defense weapon.

i just got a ruger LCP .380. its tiny but effective

Im sorry if youre a complete moron and cant phrase a question properly without incriminating yourself.

Maybe you could rub your two brain cells together and use some common sense. Fucking moron.

@labartic Yea right. Ahh Sir, Should I carry a gun illegally. Yes, shot I someone but I didn’t get caught. What happens if I shoot a police officer? I think these kind of statements to the sheriffs department will put you on their wanted list.

labartic
April 11th, 2011

You need to look up your own state laws. Call a sheriff’s department and they will answer your questions.

westin1985

cover some gun laws, so that while the state still has controll, they don’t put you away for possessing it at the wrong time and place. Then cover laws of the street when it come to guns. Buying guns legally vs illegally. Possesing a firearm that was used in a shooting( gun was purchased from a street dealer). Your gun turns up missing or is stolen. Can you possess legally unregistered firearms? When can police take you firearm?

Double action = pulling the trigger causes the hammer to cock and release.
Example – Sig Sauer , HK USP , Beretta M9 , FNP , CZ75 (first shot is double action, follow up shots are in single action since the first shot automatically cocks the hammer. Double action is 8lbs, single action 3lbs)

Single action = Pulling trigger causes hammer to release only.
Example – 1911 3-4lb trigger pull

Then there is double action only , like sig p250

Striker fired guns, glocks, SA-XD, SW MP
